126 Negative & Transparency Unmounted Film Scanning Prices

We can scan your 126 "instamatic" unmounted negative and positive film at up to 4000ppi using our professional Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 ED film scanners! 126 film can be identified by the 28mm square frames with one perforation and frame number below each frame. The image below shows what a typical 126 filmstrip looks like and how we want to receive your 126 film. Do not cut the filmstrip into individual frames!

Standard 126 film strip with 4 frames
126 filmstrip with 4 frames shown, each frame = 28mm x 28mm

126 negative film was typically cut into filmstrips of 4-6 frames and 126 slide film was typically mounted in 2" x 2" slide mounts. If you have mounted 126 slides please refer to our slide scanning prices; this method will crop the top and bottom of the frame slightly. If you want full frame 126 slide scans please refer to our medium format slide scanning prices.

Our scans will provide you with high quality full frame positive digital images from your 126 film! Digital ICE and CD/DVD's are included FREE of charge. Volume discounts are available if all frames in the filmstrip are scanned. Scans can be saved as TIFF or JPEG files. Our 126 negative and transparency scanning prices below are per frame for scanning all frames with image data in a filmstrip of 2-6 frames, with the exception of the selective & single frames rows. Selective frame prices are for scanning select frames in filmstrips of 2-6 frames and must follow our marking requirements. Single frame prices are for single/individually cut frames; this does not include filmstrips that are at least 2 frames in length but only have one frame with image data. Do not cut your negatives, if needed, we will cut them so they can be scanned.

Minimum order is $30.00 plus shipping. Processing options increase the scan price because they increase scanning time. Add each processing option to the scan price. ICE cannot be used with monochrome film unless it was developed in color. For more information on our 126 scanning service please click here.

126 Negative & Transparency File Information

To help assist you in choosing a scan resolution we have provided the table below. First look at the left column to find a scan resolution. Then follow the table row across to see information about the specific scan resolution. Keep in mind that digital imaging is subtractive and so it's better to have more pixels to work with; you can always downsize the image. The numbers below represent uncropped scans and once the images have been cropped you will have less pixels to work with.

Scan Resolution Approximate Pixel Size Approximate Print Size @ 300dpi Approximate TIFF File Size Approximate # of TIFF Files
